Survive the storm, and you may grow.
Tempest Roar

Huddle up tighter, draw your cloak about you
Bury your face in the cloth as the winds pick up
Your two eyes watch in fear as the storm envelopes you
Pressing against your tiny shelter.

Eyes squeezed shut as the gale buffets you
A rumble like a beast of lore fills your ears and vibrates in your gut
An all-consuming maw opens wide
Before the tiny you.

Heavy rain drums and pours
Icy needles everywhere, soaking you
Flash of lightning as thunder rumbles
In the tempest roar.

Draw yourself tighter, good child, and be brave
The floods rise, the lightning is near
The jaws of the storm threaten to snap closed and end you

But you're stronger than that.

As you huddle, the winds die down
One eye opens to watch the floods sink away
And the jaws close, the ethereal dark teeth fading away
And the sun shines again, weakly, then stronger.

You stand up slowly, your limbs cold and weak
But the spring that awaits you is a different story
Throwing back your cloak, the damp spring air fills your lungs as birds chirp and green grass waves
Courtesy of the rains and the tempest roar.

You smile, your eyes' fear replaced by joy
Spring draws you close in its eternal beauty
The parched land had to have its rains to bring the blossoms
And you, good child, must survive the tempest roar if you want the spring to come.
