A contest entry.
After the rain,
A moment of silence,
Not a soul lingers.
Families shelter at home.
The streets are clear,
Anybody can rule them.

After the rain,
A moment of clarity,
In which the world is revealed.
Grey clouds part,
And the sun glistens upon the ground,
Colour fills the streets.

After the rain,
A moment of joy,
The darkness receding,
Happier times are ahead.
Colours splash across the sky,
Giving everybody hope.

After the rain,
A moment of love,
For those who got through the rain together,
And can clearly see what's ahead.
If the rain were ever to cloud over again,
They would always have each other.

After the rain,
A moment of unity.
In which the sky, and the Earth,
and of course, the inhabitants,
even the Sun,
are all smiling.
