a sex worker ruminates over her life its meaning and the end. .
I too was a kid like you.
Loved my toys and played like you.
My dreams were no different from yours.
I too wished for a home as cordial as yours.
But now I stoop like a seedy soul.
Personifying the utmost impurity for you all.

Were my sins so awful to live these blues on?

You stand across the street today, as a revered man.
Greeting and pleasing with that phoney grin to each man.
You often looked at me through those murky specs.
And I could sense it as just another lecherous glance.

Your world glitters with wealth and loaded lawns.
Mine gets gloomy with every dusk and dawn.
You have a name to carry on.
Mine will be lost in these sinister yarns.

Were my sins so awful to live these blues on?

I wish your happiness shall cling to you eternally and so on.
Your love may blossom throughout all the days to come along.
But as all my wishes are ordained to drown,
I know this too will soon go down.

And now that dreadful day has alas come to daunt.
You, once so privileged and pompous among all.
Now lay bare on my dismal ground.
Your eyes which once glared with lustful mind.
Are today soppy and linger for my tender sign.

Are your sins too so awful to have these blues on?

I wasn’t certain what should I do; but couldn’t let you suffer as I do.
I held you to let your shiver calm down.
The way you griped me was so different from all.
It wasn’t the harsh clench that I am used to, from all this time long.
I wish this touch could stay with me for ever and ever on.

But then I chortled at my foolish want.
It was a dream that had to shatter if it went on.
So I kissed you and kissed you on;
Till you finally stood up and left me alone;
Once again in these sinister yarns.

Are my sins so awful to live these blues still on?
