A poem about the loss of love.
It’s been so long, I thought it would be easy to speak.
To speak about you and I, but I was too weak.
The words hadn’t even escaped my lips when I started to cry.
I said I was okay, I told a lie.
But I couldn’t talk about your smile,
Or the way you looked at me when you hadn’t seen me in a while.
I couldn’t tell them the exact color of your eyes.
The way the gold mixed perfectly with the green, I couldn’t see the lies.
I didn’t tell them that you knew me all too well.
I didn’t say that since you left, my life has been absolute hell.
I couldn’t say the things that needed to be said.
I’m useless, good for nothing, better off dead.
