True desire may be forsaken but never disappears.
Passion, Restrained

Once a hungry fire consuming,
Empty ache forever looming;
Raged within, burned hot the flame,
A savage beast too wild to tame.

Now alight with embers glowing,
Ache replaced with quiet knowing;
Longing need that's now suppressed,
Beast controlled and put to rest.

Ever-present tho now yielding,
Tamed desire that's kept from building;
Hungry beast remains unfed,
Lying dormant, never dead.
