Poem of love, pain and the cycle this causes.
Walking Contradiction

Swallow your tongue
Stop your heart
Stitch it together
Pull it apart
Night and day can never die
When you are willing to keep them alive
Burning deep inside your soul.
Don’t let the passion flicker out
A firefly in the night
Dive into this feeling and make it real
Stop the ice from swallowing me whole
Make me feel.

Don’t pretend the war we live isn’t real
Don’t let this pain live on too long
Before then it will be gone.
Let’s start over
Let’s never do this again
Shut me out
Let me in.
I’m a walking contradiction

Don’t hurt me please
I hurt enough for two
I fall into this with abandon
I fall into you.
Take my arm but leave my heart
If we have to do this I need that part
To live when you move on
Because when I’m not looking you’ll already be gone.
The lingering thoughts of life beyond this moment
The wonder at what has never been
Made me feel not good enough
But let me be whole
I’m the only living human without a soul.

Don’t pretend the war we live isn’t real
Don’t let this pain live on too long
Before then it will be gone.
Let’s start over
Let’s never do this again.
Shut me out
Let me in.
I’m a walking contradiction.
