Rainbow Nonetheless

For Lex



Our friendship,
like a bipolar mind
an innocent child
a jaded woman
a worried parent

Our friendship,
cold as ice
hot as fire
lovely as rain

Our friendship,
tainted icing
on a pure-snow cake

Our friendship,
a rainbow of deep blues and angry reds
but a rainbow nonetheless
one that always appears
after the ice,
the fire,
and the rain.
