How it feels to finally be free from depression.
Just as if a fog was lifted from my eyes,
everything is undarkened, undimmed, unclouded

Sunshine streaks the sky with luminous rays
I see the play of the wind among the trees

I taste the sweetness of tree sap
I hear the crickets, the song of the storm

The crashing, thrashing,
and even the scorn.

But, I fear this will soon go away.
I fear that the opague of yesterday will become today

Summer has come and gone
Now I am here at the dawn of fall

I can feel the irony in it.
Last year, my vision was taken from me.

I cannot no longer be free...

I've
         been
                    liberated
                             far
                                        too
                                                 long.
