this poem is about nature love and about seeing it thru the eyes of a poet
Sketch By A Poet
I know you tried your very best
In every kind of way
To write a verse that would express
The things you want to say.
You want to tell of long walks
Hearts of love and dreamy rains
Finger paints by running brooks
White frost on tree tops.
Orange sunsets in the west
Smky mountains jagged peaks
Moonlight on a oceans crest
A garden gate that creaks.
winding trails through forests deep
Squirrels in a park
Tolling bells for souls that sleep
The singing of a lark
Such things are not just what they seem
A passing phrase or thought
But notes within a life dream
That by the night are caught
They're sent out on the wings of song
By a soul who lives and loves
Resting at last upon the throng
Like weary turtle doves.
They tell of joys and useless tears
Of fools who always grin
They link the chain of passing years
Good deed with passions sin.
Poet artist and vagabond
The lover, dreamer and fool
All drifting by to the great beyond
Through lifes tempestous pool.
She uses paint another a word
Still one, her throbbing heart
All go to make the sweet song heard
Soft word sweet phrase some part
You needn't write a verse or rhyme
To tell of loves bright flame
I've known your feelings quite sometime
Cause I feel just the same.
