Criminal Creation
By: Brandon Trotter

The night is a place of fear for most.
The darkness conceals dangers.
The dark also reveals.
It reveals passions of love and of hate.
Thieves and lovers walk on the same path in the night.
Those who are unafraid of welcomed into this bliss.

To me, the night is a home.
Tonight the moon is full and the clouds drift lazily across the sky.
I feel the comforting cold of the night.
The moon allows me to illuminate my mind.
The waterfall of silence begins to roar.
To most, total quiet is a bore.

I am alone on the street.
No cars. No other feet.
I can see my canvas
its shadows waiting to be illuminated
I walk silently,
concealing my creative intent.

I reveal my passion to the world in the dark ( recesses ) of the night.

my art across the brick and mortar page.
Content with my work I slink back into the shadows.
My greatness will be recognized by tomorrow’s light.
