Strange things are happening all around her - what on earth is going on?
Spectacular colours explode in her head,
Tides of blood surging outwards,
As her boyfriend lies dead
Stupefying fear, stabs her soul,
As sharp as a knife,
As images starting forming
Vivid scenes from her life.
Emeralds - then sapphires, from Arabia appear,
A  jewelled cosmic skyscape,,
So far, yet so near,
As the constellations tremble, shimmering above
Her heart seems to rip at the reminder
Of a lost, desperate love.
Fragrant, butter- yellow blooms are next to arrive,
Scattering like sunlight, so bright and alive,
Bringing memories of flowers offered by others, desperate to care,
Adoring, bewitched, loyal  and fair
Satin green ballet pumps from her youth En pointe tiptoe by,
Photos of her children, full of love
Bring a proud tear to her eye,
Lingerie, gold shoes - even sand from a beach where she’d been,
Swirl around her in a dazzling, ethereal scene..
Now darkness scurries urgently,
Gaining speed and depth and power,
Racing to a tunnel,
Near The Eiffel Tower,
Where a concertinaed car lies,
And she understands, in bleak distress,
Her driver and her boyfriend are lying dead,
Beside her, a dying Princess.
