"End of the World" Reviews appreciated. Written for school
One Minute to Midnight
A black line ticking closer
To its circle counterpart.
Will they ever join together
Like lovers in the act,
Destroying each other’s worlds?

Tick, Tick, Tick
Two meanings- one word
We are seconds away
Line and circle so close.
Making So many take cover
In their steel bound fortresses.

Will it be enough?

Time is no longer my friend
Gifting me with a barren wasteland.
Hope taking refuge where it will
Never be found
Nothing for miles
Did no one survive?

A white house lays empty
Barren from scavengers
No way to find anyone
Except with pure chance.
Not even a superhero roams the land
No Superman or Batman

How will I survive
This desert now life?
Stumbling past hope
Further into oblivion
Surely someone survives
A refuge where hope lies?

Is my fate meant to be
Like that of the masses
A grotesque play- a cruel joke?
Blistered skin, dehydration
A light ahead
Still not hope.

I feel my body tick
Ever closer to the end.
Slowing, Silencing
I’ll never find hope- it’ll never find me
Sleep overwhelms me
Time fails me
Time can no longer be my friend.
