It's funny how unexpectant we truly are.
Had I known it was going this far,
         I would've brought a brief case.
For when I look back on my journey,
There've been a lot of things I needed,
A tube of sympathy and a pair of patience.

Had I known it was going to end like this,
         I probably would've brought a hat,
One that would fit snug over my ears,
Since there's been a lot of things I didn't want to hear.
A nice pair of ear plugs would do fine.

Had I known you never cared,
I would've brought something to pass the time.
Like a puzzle and some crosswords.
Where you've been driving us is nowhere,
And now I just wish I owned a well drawn map.
