When the dream of what could have been becomes that which you live for.
The picture is vivid
The feelings exquisite.
Your soft hands in mine.
Sand beneath our toes, the tides washes over our feet.
A salty sweet scent, the salty from the sea
The sweet from your perfume.
And for the life of me, I cant decided whether the sunset or your eyes are more beautiful.
If it were between the sunset and all of you, the winner is clear.
Ive got your eyes all day, every day,
And a sunset only happens every so often.
Your eyes never seem to lose their beauty.
As I look in them, I feel like Im drowing.
I cant breath. Our lips touch. Shivers go down my spine.
Simultaneously, we fall into the sand, wrapped in each other.
Our bodies were made for the other. Our minds were made for the other.
The water rolls over our feet, our legs, my hands roll through you hair.
I open my eyes after our embrace,
And I am alone, in a tiny dorm.
My bed feels nothing like that sand, the sheets nothing like those waves.
And that emptiness next to me, it sure doesn’t feel like you.
But the alarm screeches, I have things to do.
Ive got to stay busy, got to keep the image of you and the one you love together
Out of my mind. It makes me sick to picture the two of you together,
Knowing that we were built for each other. It makes me sick to think he is the one
Entangled with Elora,
On some secluded shoreline at sunset.
I just have to make it through the day, and I know that when I
Lay my head down
You’ll be mine.
