Thoughts on this life's era
The swirling of an efficacious era
Comme un bon verre de vin âgé et fin
Or the waters of the Riviera
As things subtly fade out yet begin
Discovering no one’s who they appear
I idly wonder where I must fit in
Where will I wind up in a single year?
Will I finish learning the violin?
Time trickles by and thus sets me ablaze
Journeys to Christchurch, Montréal, Berlin
Can I influence with musical phrase?
As I attempt to free the light within

Building up my external body art
I perform this as my yearly decree
Live every moment and take it to heart
Like who else has seen a banana tree?
I’ve been granted a superior start
High hopes will drive me to the peak degree
Future plans will never come a la carte
Western ways try giving a guarantee
