A poem about things outside this world.
Out in space with the cosmic clouds
Lulls me to sleep every time
As I float past horizons I dream that I dream
That I’m in Orion’s nursery rhyme
I float through the stuff space is made of
Sticky, gooey black tar
it’s always a dark, dark journey
Floating from star to star
Out in the nothings of space
You learn to know, to know
The truth about the planet earth
A humble ball of dough
Baking, baking happily
In the sunshine of yellow Orb
Spinning, spinning, slowly
The third planet to absorb
So far, so far, so far from me
That little baked ball of clay
I float up higher, I float down lower
Away, away, away
To the brink of where existence brims
To the edge of all we know
I brace myself for impact
I’m ready to let go
