A bad choice prompted this poem.
EGO

Alone! I exist! In this anthropoid!
I am! At once! Both! Beast and God!
Intrepid strokes is my rallying cry!
Who else proclaims the virtues of I?

Must I continue to soloquize so adroitly
Before you adhere whence I speak?
As I whisper ever so softly,
"He who feels remorse is twice weak".

My wisdom burns! The flame is lit!
When you reach your ideal do you thereby surpass it?
At Insanity's trough I oft-times feed;
For in a mad world only a greater madness suceeds.

Listen to the whisper of my wind-chime
Like the somnolence of a summer day.
I am the wisdom imparted through the gift of time...
I am the ghost of the 'Great White Way'.

I am the odist who evokes,
Enchanting memories; transient as smoke!
Am I becoming any clearer?
No, you're just Narcissus and his mirror.
