Life is a road that can't be halted.
The wooden carriage
Is steady not
And sometimes it does not journey
Forward
When I do not wish to stop.

But today I travel
Quickly
And see a faithful glen
Filled with long besotted flowers
And a place to rest my head.

"Stop, stop!" says my heart's cry.
But the one to slow
This carriage down
Is someone else--
Not I.
