A cobweb glints in the sun; on that thread is a spider: this is his story.
A solitary wire to the world beats in the breeze,

Tiptoeing above an eternal mundane abyss;

Cascades of light puncture our fruitless existence, 

Illuminating a world far beyond your reach.

One gust from oblivion, yet still you coast the line,

Cast adrift, you orbit the earth like stars do the sun;

Traversing corrugated roofs like ocean waves,

As ancestors guide you through dark uncertainty.

Below, nervy creatures fret every action alone,

Cocooned in our heartless man made jungles forever;

Oh, spider, spider! To be you would be heavenly,

As you tower on the breeze with consummate ease.
