Poem about the changing season
Contrast in color defines the day

Yellow and red and green and gray.

Where brilliant sun casts its light

Even snow seems warm and bright.

Where dark gray clouds are closing in

The light's obscured and all's gone dim.

Red and gold trees capture the sun

Reminding us that summer's done.

Dark green pines on mountain peaks

Tell us that it's winter that seeks

To steal our warmth and chase us inside

Where by the fire we choose to reside

Until spring's warm breezes gently blow

and all around the valley is aglow.

But first winter must have its due

Before spring can come anew

For the circle of life's gone round again

and I hope and pray it will never end.
