A poem for all the people we lost that day.
How will we remember them?
The boys and girls, the women and men.
The ones who fought and died that day
Just to watch us through our lives away.
Make no attempt to change the world
While bullets and bombs at them were hurled
And still fought on to change our home
Into a safer place to roam.

They all once said ‘Never forget’
So that we might all one day regret
The lives we lost and children we killed,
The holes left in hearts, never to be filled.
But do we regret it, or did we forget
The stories that they told us yet
To be finished from beginning to end
About the death of our dear friend.

And now once again we go to war,
Fighting and losing more and more
To hold again what we already lost,
Covered in the silver, eternal frost
The stories and rumours of countries afar,
Followed to leave a permanent scar.
So time and again they are sent like cattle,
While we once again, march on to battle.
