A poem about love as defining force.


Raison d'Etat


Tossing and turning,
On a sleepless night,
Your light steadily fading...
Was it ever so bright;
To lift me above faith,
To let my world die,
To forge me a new path...
In shadow forced to lie?

I barely remember,
The voice of your call,
You, Rider of Flames,
A blur from afar.
The time might still ripen,
The change to accept,
Yet, how am I to lessen,
A raison d'etat?
