poem about separation and loss as it applied to leaving a place and people you loved
Sometimes it hits me out of the blue

That's when I start thinking of you

Doing my best to forget that place

But sometimes all I see is your face

The crushing pain of loss is gone

I've learned to deal and carry on

But a piece of me has been left behind

I have to say I really don't mind

Yet oftentimes I wonder why

I fell in love with Montana Big Sky

I promise myself someday I'll return

And hope my bridge has yet to burn

Cuz even if it takes too long

I know that place is where I belong.
