Response to a challenge I was given.
Eclipse

Consider the plight
Of the
Bathtub plug.

His lot,
To be plunged
Often
Into a metal kilt,
a size to small.

Protector of the drain,
He dams against,
Waters,
tainted.

Sentinel still he observes,
Bathers primp,
Undress,
prance through
Cleansing rituals.

Witness to moments of
Washer’s self-intimacy
He sees it all,
Feet,
Faces,
Fat,

If he spoke
Would he say,
Come relax,
Enjoy your bath,
Or
Move your penumbra
of a butt?
