A young child gets lost in the woods.

Lost

Blurs of color surrounded me,

They grew on each lovely tree.

The sound of a crunch below my feet,

Wind in the air like a frantic heartbeat.

I turned around to tell my mom,

What it was like to feel so calm.

But when I turned to see no one was there,

It suddenly felt colder in the air.

I've never felt quite so alone,

More intense than wind could have blown.

I was so close to falling,

Into a deep state of bawling.

But instead I think i'll sit,

Sit and wait not throwing a fit.

And now I hear rustling nearby,

I see my mom and begin to cry.
