Always waiting for completion
Never wanting to compete
Always needing steady rhythm,
Never finding my own beat.
The words twist
And shift
And replace my mouth
Don’t try so hard,
They say too much
Don’t pass it up,
You’ll never know
The words you write
Their ebb and flow
