Villanelle of dreams.
Swells beyond capacity, bursting at the seams
Lingering upon the edge, sensing it will tear
Yank and stretch and rip apart the fabric of the dream

Body made of rugged land; water as it gleams
Lifting up above the world flying through the air
Swells beyond capacity, bursting at the seams

Motion shakes us out of it, no one to be seen
Repetition every night, stop it if you dare
Yank and stretch and rip apart the fabric of the dream

Muscles tense behind the eyes, ears can hear a ring
Fuzziness throughout the mind, reaching through the hairs
Swells beyond capacity, bursting at the seams

Never laying perfectly, tends to want to cling
Folded up upon the shelf, never out to wear
Yank and stretch and rip apart the fabric of the dream

Now a mess created, needing to be cleaned
More than one can handle, only can be shared
Swells beyond capacity, bursting at the seams
Yank and stretch and rip apart the fabric of the dream
