Charlie's Remorse

Remorse

“Call her,” Paul said.

“No, I’m not gonna do that.”

“Well then I don’t know what else to tell you, dude.  Just move on I guess; you wanna go out tonight and grab a few drinks?”

Charlie scrolled through the contacts of his phone and stopped on “Sarah P. Cell.”  He stared at her name with his finger on the call button, but had no intention of pressing it.  He exited to the main screen and put the phone back into his pocket, “it’s too late for that,” he said under his breath.  He walked to the fridge, grabbed three beers and twisted off the caps at the counter.  He chugged one, dropped it into the recycling bin and carried the other two back to the couch, handing one to Paul.

“So, we’re going out, right?”  Charlie said.

“Absolutely.”
