A poem about a thunderstorm
The sun is slowly hiding behind the clouds
Little by little it disappears

The sky grows dark, mysterious…

I step out onto the porch knowing a show is about to begin
I take my seat waiting patiently, for I know it won’t be long

The rain starts to sing a song
lightning dances across the sky,
as if it’s a stage
Thunder crashes as if it’s encouraging the rain to be loud & proud

The rain picks up, it’s becoming fierce yet none the less,
its song is still just as beautiful as ever, if not more
The lighting’s dance is graceful and powerful
the thunder always seems to come in at the right time,
in perfect synch with the rain’s song, and the lightning’s dance

The rain starts to quiet down until it’s barely a whisper,
The lightning gracefully dances off of its stage,
as the thunder slowly fades away

Out creeps the sun drawing a magnificent rainbow
As if it’s telling me the show is over
It saddens me to know the show is over, but then I can’t help but smile
As I am now anxious and ready for the next show

So I can settle in once more for one of nature’s magnificent shows
