Glazed Truth

Why can’t you see?
That hideous cover that I am constantly showing
Placing make up over the bruises
Hiding the shame with a smile
Graced upon my lips
But in my head I whisper a silent plea
Begging for someone to save me
From this nightmare
Can somebody help me?
Why can’t you see?
Why can’t you place the truth upon those lies?
I can’t do it
He wouldn’t allow it
I would get abused more and more
Until there, my last sigh exclaims
‘Help’
