A poem about depression and its devistating effects on your soul.
Out of the Pit

In the pit you call despair,
Deep in the darkest hole.
Come visit if you dare,
It wants to steal your soul.

You'll climb and you'll crawl,
But to no avail.
Back down the pit you will fall.
To have first entered you bewail.

You'll cry and you'll scream,
But no one can hear.
You pray this a dream,
This horror no one can bare.

You look up and you see,
through the top of the hole,
Blue skies and a tree,
Your freedom it stole.

You try again to reach the top,
Using all of your might,
To move on nonstop,
Its a perilous fight.

You reach the way out,
Only to be tested.
Your soul will fill full of doubt,
You'll surly fall if you are bested.

But you can get there,
I promise you that.
For I have been here,
And I know where your at.

Keep climbing you'll see,
That you can make way.
Its better to be free,
Then these sorrows you pay.
