A short poem about a family on Christmas.
The moon is bright
Snow falling outside
This time of year celebrated
Far and wide

The stockings hung
Above the crackling fire.
So plain to see
That the children are tired.

Now we send them off
To bed so they may sleep.
And now we bring down the presents
Not making a peep.

The chill of the winter
And the calm sound of snow
Sends us off to bed
For we already know.

That early next morning
When the children should wake
They’ll rush into our bed
Like they were a manmade earthquake.

Then we’ll all sit ‘round the tree
And without any reason
The children will tear open there gifts…
Oh how I love the Christmas season.
