You never know what or who you might see in a crowded train station.
Bustling people, crowded scene.
Faces everywhere.
Departure boards flickering.
People everywhere.

Through the crowd I see a face.
Memories surface in my mind.
A glimpse of cheek and nose and mouth:
a vision of my long lost love.

I shout: my voice is small, unheard.
She begins to move away.
“My love,” I scream, “my love, it's me.”
She vanishes from sight.

Bustling people, crowded scene.
Faces everywhere.
Departure boards flickering.
My love; nowhere.
