A poem of a woman in love's last thoughts.
One Last Smile

Trying to see through teary eyes
Keep hearing those weary lies
Being led to believe everything is fine
Being told I'm yours, you are always mine

Lying here on this iron stone bed
Full of anger, worry and dread
These thoughts won't leave me to rest
I push them away but my mind is oppressed.

I see your face, the last thing I will see
There is no place I would rather be
I am now drifting from this life
I am so proud to have been your wife

I need to see one last smile
Feel relief of no more denial
I am lost in your beautiful eyes
As mine close forever, no more lies
