Voice of Reason

Where have you gone,
My voice of reason?
So alone in these thoughts,
I’m fading with the seasons.

Drowning in my self pity,
Despising my reflection.
Failing to breathe again,
To live is not an option.

In a world filled with light
I am the only shadow.
Reaching for the sun,
Throws me into oblivion.

My sanity fails to comply,
Surrendering to my sorrows.
Diving into this sea of shadows,
Down to the souls with no tomorrow.

Reaching up with nothing to grab,
I lay my burdens down.
Weight of judgment push’s me further,
I’m finally able to drown.
