This is an ode of sorts to my dear friends "Orion" and "Luna".
As I walk across the beach,
I think of the ones I love.
Orion shines down on me
But I still feel wrong.
I don't know what's missing
But as the lights fade in the distance
My Orion grows brighter.
The waves are crashing beside me.
As I look upon Orion,
Everything looks so bright.

Alas, time waits for no man
And soon I must return home.
As I turn around I realize what was so wrong.
My precious Luna is nowhere in sight.
I scan the skies searching
But she does not appear.
Have you abandoned me, Luna?
Did you tire of waiting for me?
Was I too intent on Orion to notice your pain?
Orion! You shine too brightly in my despair!

Why are you both so bright?
Orion my stars, Luna my moon,
Why are you so far out of my reach?
Don't shine too brightly!
Those who don't care for you
They don't deserve it.
Those who adore you may take you away.
Why can't you shine just for me?
Is it a sin for me, a Nobody, to love you so?
A Nobody who loves the stars and the moon.

As I return home
The lights shine brighter.
Orion fades with each star twinkling "goodbye".
The loneliness grows inside me,
Knowing I will soon be all alone.
The lights are too bright for Orion.
And Luna has left me.
I look up from a world of light into a sky of darkness.
I whisper, "goodbye."
I return home cold, bitter, and alone.
