Reality of Chicago and life in the city.
Chicago use to be my dream.

But visions, are not often what they seem.

Glitter and glamour, attract us all.

But behind the glitter, you see the small.

Attractions, are designed to suck us in.

But you discover, they're not your friend.

Reality, makes us soon realize.

That our "dream city", is not the prize.

Curfew, imposed by safety and fear.

No freedom, in the place, you held so dear.

Shysters, for friends, everywhere you go.

In very high places, as well as the low.

All the amenities, that attracted you.

Are not so pretty, from the inside view.

Corruption and greed, make the wheels turn..

Once a citizen, you begin to learn.

Bumping elbows, with celebrities and stars.

But sometimes healing, from the cities scars.

Utopia, is a long distance down the road.

Because the city, imposes, a heavy load.

Wake-up, and realize, this is not the place.

The reality of the city, we all must face.
