this is a descriptive essay about that place where you are comfortable and happy.
I lean out over the edge and take a deep breath, salty air fills my lungs. I stand on my tip toes and try to get a better look, I squint but I still cannot see it. I stare at the spot where I know it will appear. Finally, a shiny black roof top pokes out and becomes visible. We get closer, I can see more now. A massive green light pivots across the dark water, leading me home. I think I’m shaking, but I can’t be sure. A horn blows so loud it hurts my ears. The horn is a signal, warning the world that I have arrived. My bare feet hit the splintering dock and I take off. I dash down the walk way, through people, past stores, and strait towards home. I keep running until my sore feet hit rock, now I’m sprinting. I listen to the satisfying sound as my feet slap against the hard surface. I close my eyes and I know when it’s over. I hold my breath, and jump. In seconds I am immersed in icy, green heaven. I drift onto the sand peacefully and pull my self out of the cold. Breathing hard I look up at the sky, beautiful lights twinkle everywhere. The same words pound through my head again and again “welcome home, welcome home.”
