Shadows behind me
Shadows

Sometimes if I turn fast
I catch a glimpse of something
Something perhaps from my past
It’s there for just a second
At the extremities of my vision
It is tall and dark but
Too quick to describe with precision
Maybe it’s just a shadow
But every time I move so quick
I see it standing there
Something not there like old Nick
