The hazards of it to the heart...
Like a nurse, nurturing God's orchids,
Nourishing my sorrow and pain,
Supporting my addiction to sadness,
This Georgia rain.

Like an tyrant, imprisoning those below,
Chaining me to confusion I battle in vain,
Laughing as I'm scarred by internal war,
This Georgia rain.

Like a veil, shrouding life's beauty in black,
Hiding the answers for which I strain,
While in my search for peace of mind,
This Georgia rain.

Like a romantic song, drying lonely tears,
I wish for sunlight to keep me sane.
So incredibly fatal is
This Georgia rain.
