A poem about a girl who is in love with her best friend but she didn't want to tell him.
We had known each other since young,

Sitting side-by-side during class,

Playing imaginative games together,

Such as pretend play.

Now we are both 16 years old,

We were still close to each other,

But sadly all you talk about is …

The girl you had a crush on.

My heartbreaks when I see both of you together,

But I didn’t show it,

Because I don’t want to let you know,

That I had feelings towards you.

Seeing you walking hand in hand with her,

Reminds me of us walking hand in hand,

But it was because,

You helped me to make my stalker go away.

Bringing her to a date,

Reminds me of us eating together on the rooftop,

Laughing and telling jokes in the car,

Sometimes even fighting with each other.

This year’s prom I will be alone,

We used to dance together,

But now you have a partner,

And I had none.

Seeing you happy,

I will feel happy too,

I don’t want our friendship to end,

The feelings towards you will be a secret,

Hidden within my heart.
