I, yawning, swallow Earth whole
I, yawning, swallow Earth whole
It's tough; I chew slowly
Continents collide with my molars
The crunchy mountains linger
on my tongue; the salty ocean
goes down smooth while the grass
gets stuck in my teeth.

I dissolve and decipher nations
I take them in, spread them throughout
myself, flying first class through veins
that lift them up, and bury them
in what space I have left
that isn't already occupied.
I can hear their cries with my fingers
I can feel their pain with my eyes.
But only for a moment, as they are absorbed
into my own dark solar system.
