racial issues
The Sun peeks over the horizon
Eying the freshly awoken Earth
She eyes a people, rich in culture
And ancestral wisdom, helpless
To the smile across her face

With the passing of time
She comes to find her people
Put down and suppressed
And as tears roll down her face
She turns away from the sight

There's a din, so much clatter
She's forced to look again and
Those who she eyed so lovingly
Are standing together, headstrong
Throwing off the shackles of society

Strength and devotion exude from
Their iron will, even she has to squint
And the wall of hate crashes down
With a great sigh she didn't know she held
The Sun watches the healing Earth in tenderness
