Poem to commerate my daughter's life, who died at the age of 12, on January 26, 2000.
A Love Lost; But Not Forgotten

It has been ten years since I heard your footsteps walking through the house.
For years I was bound by chains of sadness, longing for you to be around.
You disappeared in a cloud of smoke; A cloud of darkness surrounding me.
My pillow dampened with the tears, cries of sorrow, wrenched my years.
I kept looking out the window for you to appear, but alas there was no sign of you ever coming near.
Then I came to realize that you had never left, for as long as I remember you, you will always be in my heart.

                                                                    Dedicated to my daughter,
                                                                          Deondra Mae Snyder
