Poem about Eating Disorders
Thinspiration

Thinspiration is the motto.
‘Eat to live but don’t live to eat’.
Affirmations of the body,
Entice you to lose that flesh.

Magazine models, cut out and stuck down
Show the flawless person you can be;
The waist of one, chest from another,
Mix them altogether,
Eat less, exercise more and
Perfection is attainable.

Let the calorie counter be your friend.
How far can your bones stick out?
Hold your breath,
Tuck your tummy in.
Lose that smile.

The cardboard fraud can be changed
Into a glossy size eight picture,
Where food does not exist
And scars are healed, then
One smudge of make-up,
One wrong word
And the image is torn.
