Dedicated to Camille.
Damned be 11'
If it took you for
so long

Life's been fine,
my dearest
Don't weep over
my wound

Winter's going away,
Yes, I'm buying
lighter clothes too

A season has
passed away
that I haven't heard
from you

Do you still take out
your puppy
in that old park?

Do you still wear
yourself out
until light meets the dark?

I know you can rewind
my voice
at the back of your mind

I feel guilty
thinking that I was
left behind

But you swept it away,
wind to her sand

Your words more curing
than any healing wand

I heard your voice
after so long,
I recognized that tone,
the rhythm I regarded
as wrong

I'm sorry my dear,
for not noticing that
you've been crying

I was too engrossed in
my thoughts
not to notice you're lying

Cursed be
people
and ballistic
be this year too

It made me ask
whether you wear the ring now,
made me doubt you

I'm sorry that
I didn't hug you;
weak as I'm strong

Please understand
my little one,
we've been apart
for so long

But you'll take a step
forward,
and I'll join you soon

Mighty as distance is,
I permit it not over us to loom

Therefore, hold my palm
throughout our lives

Keep your gaze
close
to my eyes

Keep on listening
until I'm the last sound you hear

For I will from now
till long then-

Stay beside you, dear.
