I've recently been giving myself mental exercises in description, this is part 1 of that
Standing under the overhang just enough to avoid being hit by the rain drops, he stared down at the puddle where the water had accumulated, seeing his reflection one moment and just pavement the next. Nostrils flaring, head now tilted to the side and slightly towards the sky, he seemed to be breathing in the essence of the rain. The wind shifted just the tiniest bit and he began to feel the rain on his cheeks, and saw the drops welling up at the edge of his hat brim, growing fatter and fatter before finally falling off to splash on his tattered running shoes.
