A call for Spring.
Watercolor Dreams

Waiting for Nature’s creation called Spring,
Young robin on fence-post fervently sings,
Waiting for Nature’s watercolor dreams.

Hopeful melodies spring from orange breast
Coaxing the sleeper from Winter’s rest,
Drowsy and waking, she starts working with zest.
With ardent strokes her brush paints the ‘scape,
Mother Nature’s artwork begins to take shape.

Gold crocus, red tulip, peach daffodil hue,
Her brush of flowers dapples morning dew,
A wet prism palette accents sky blue.
Green grass flows through fields in tidal rush,
Red-buds and white lilacs flow from her brush.

Admiring Nature’s painting of Spring,
Young robin on fence-post gratefully sings,
Thankful for Nature’s watercolor dreams.
