A love poem.
Where are you? Are you with me tonight?
Why must I wander just short of the light?
You seem to be there, but I am not sure
If me you are really hoping to lure.
I am fighting within me, and I hope
You really want me to climb a steep slope
and fly to the heavens, up in the air
To reach for you baby, and fly somewhere.
Just give me a signal, give me a sign
Somehow let me know that you’re really mine.
I fear that you are just out of my grasp
That your high standards are too high to clasp,
But you seem to like me. I don’t know why
When you could have any other guy
On the tip of your finger, yours to use
But for some reason it’s me you did choose
To share in your life, if I see correctly
The signs that you throw about me so freely.
Is it coincidence or is it fate
That you have joined me on a silver plate
Of friendship and trust, oh can you not see
Me in your eyes, and your eyes inside me?
