I was upset and hurt and so I wrote this poem.
Lightening never strikes the same place twice
But if it did that would be nice
Because it would strike me where I stand
And take me from this forsaken land

When thunder rolls across the sky
I sit here and wonder why
I guess I made you hate me
Watching you ignore my every plea

When the rain begins to pour
That's when you seem to ignore
Everything I've said to you
And all I've tried to do

When you closed me out
And you began to shout
You broke me apart
You ripped out my heart

When all the trees fall
You can't hear my call
And when the winds blow
You act like you don't know

But when you see me shed a tear
You recoil in regret and fear
You hurt me, you caused this pain
You're causing me to go insane

Why can't it just strike me twice?
Why must I pay this price?
How long must I suffer in pain
While I’m left standing in the rain

This life is taking its toll
I need to take control
I wish lightning struck twice
Because if it did, that would be nice

I try to yell over all the sounds
I know its pointless, as my heart pounds
There is so much noise, its gotten so loud
Because you hear every clashing cloud

But lightening never strikes the same place twice
and if it happened that way it would be nice
Because it would strike me where I stand
And take me from this forsaken land
